Frédérique Constant is involved in the Peking - Paris Rally as one of the main partners of the event. You will find a comprehensive review of the watch dedicated to the celebration of the partnership here:

In this context, I was very happy to be invited to attend the end of the Rally, on the finish line located Place Vendôme, to congratulate the contestants after their very long journey (more than 13,600 kilometers)!

The sun was shining on Paris... what was not the case every day during this summer!

This car didn't participate to the Rally, it was a pity because with such mascot, the driver could expect great achievements!

The winners of the Rally, Bruce and Harry Washington and their Chrysler 75 Roadster:

Another Chrysler 75 crossed the finish line with the 2nd position:

The winning car:

Next time, I will decorate my car this way:

The most entertaining part of the day was the ability to see the cars moving and being parked on the Place Vendôme. It was a kind of unexpected ballet and a true feast for the eyes!

A superb Dodge Business Coupé:

As you can imagine, you kill a lot of bugs & flieson a 13,600 km road!

A Bentley 3-4 1/2:

A Bentley Sport Special:

A duo from America! The Chevrolet and Ford Coupés were parked side by side:

There is a Mad Max influence on this Bentley Sport Special!

I attended the event with my Patek 5130R. I thought that a Worldtimer watch was the best way to pay homage to the teams who visited a lot of different timezones!

A Ford Coupé V8:

As a Loro Piana fan, I was expecting the arrival of the car endorsed by the brand: the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super. On the roof of the car, you see the cashmere bale coming from China, of course, the symbol of the main activity of Loro Piana!

Italian Style!

A powerful engine:

Roadbooks and champagne, everytinh is ready to reach the finish line!

A wristshot in front of my new friend:

One of the teams was supported by Chopard Classic Racing. The huge car is a La France Tourer Speedster.

The right watch in this context! The chronograph lost the upper pusher but it is the real life for a timepiece which accompanies a Rally pilot!

This Mille Miglia GTS Chronograph was a faithful companion during the Rally:

Juan-Carlos Torres and Henri Sanchez also participated to the Rally with a Porsche 356SC. They were very happy to reach the finish line!

Juan-Carlos Torres was wearing this Overseas Chronograph during the Rally:

The friends and family of the Vacheron Constantin CEO were waiting for him and congratulated him for his long journey!

I was very surprised to see that only very few teams had to retire during the Rally despite the huge difficulties and traps on the road. The proof maybe that these vintage (and some were very old!) cars were built to be realiable and to last!

And I couldn't miss the opportunity to do a last wristshot in front of the Loro Piana car:

Thanks a lot to Bucherer for the invitation to this enjoyable event.

Fantastic report from the finish line!

Would love to do a long distance event like that some day. Sounds like excellent fun and it is seemingly a very interesting platform for watch brands, too with several being present judging by your report Also nice to see that the Chopard team used both its American La France and its watches in anger

Wow One Two finish for the Chrysler 75 - that is wild.

Thanks for this great report. The Bentley's have such a cool character - you can really feel the racing spirit. For me I have a weakness for the vintage Porsche so I was glad to see the 356 SC in the line up and at the finish line. Thanks Bill

Really enjoyed reading your report, thanks!

The new VC Overseas Chrono looks great under natural light, but a real shame about that date window. -Joe
