Mark in Paris's post, featuring a year's worth of wristshots of his Richard Mille RM035, offers a compelling long-term perspective on owning this highly technical timepiece. His reflections on the watch's design, finishing, and shock resistance provide valuable insights for collectors considering the RM035. The post also highlights the active and competitive spirit of the forum's WristScan theme, showcasing community engagement.

Following this week's WristScan theme, I realised my Nautilus and my RM035 were one year old and that I stored several wristshots in that time.

I love my RM035, even if, as I already have mentioned it, I love RM's brushed cases too (and I miss one). But the dial's dark depth, the very high finishing standard, especially of all the movement parts, and the technical choices, make this watch so mesmerizing, I really can't get rid of looking at it during the day.

It is of course the ultimate sport timepiece regarding shocks resistance as well.

A 4.3 g movement, Magnesium alloyed case, carbon fiber inner flange, double barrel, free-sprung balance, Titanium structure, manual winding with sliding flange, Chronofiable certified(1)... these are a few but remarkable elements of this watch and put forward what make it different from the standard production in watchmaking.

As I wish (as anyone here on this forum) to beat François-Xavier in a Wristscan Battle Contest at least ONCE in a life time, these are the pictures!

I hope you'll enjoy them and don't hesitate to share your best wristshots too!

Cheers,

Mark

Always perfectly integrated under sleeves

I love when the front's shape perfecly follows the sleeve's curve

Sportswear is fitting well of course, and not to big on the wrist

RM035 and impressionism

The day it wasn't mine yet, the thrill of the first wear

Perfect ergonomics

That's all Folks !

PS: This watch is not mine anymore since I sold it.

(1) Chronofiable test :

The Chronofiable® test, developed at the beginning of the 80’s by the CCF SA (centre de contrĂ´le de la fiabilitĂ© de l’horlogerie Suisse, taken over in 1985 by the Laboratoire Dubois SA), was devised to expose timepieces to an accelerated aging test simulating over 21 days, the equivalent of 6 months effective wear. This is achieved by the execution of a long series of tests such as the initial monitoring of the movement functions, an additional rate, the amplitude test taken at two temperature levels (0°C and 50°C), the monitoring of the power reserve and the winding velocity. Included in this artificial ageing cycle test are extensive linear and angular accelerations as well as some 20,000 shocks ranging from 250 to 5500 m/s2 (9.81 m/s2=1g).

The last step is a final monitoring phase applying the same elements than during the initial monitoring. Conditions like these attest unequivocally to the ability of the movement to withstand an array of extreme conditions without experiencing any effects on its performance.

About the Richard Mille Rafael Nadal Ref. RM035

The RM 035 represents Richard Mille's skeletonized manual-winding offering within the RM 035 series. This Rafael Nadal model features a distinctive open-dial architecture that exposes the mechanical components, positioning it as a technical showcase within the brand's contemporary lineup.

The 43mm case is constructed from NTPT Carbon, fitted with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The skeletonized dial reveals the manual-winding RMUL3 caliber, which provides a 55-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, and the watch is completed with a rubber strap.

Produced from 2012 to 2018, this reference appeals to collectors seeking Richard Mille's signature technical aesthetic in a manually-wound format. The NTPT Carbon construction and skeletonized architecture position this model for enthusiasts who prioritize material innovation and visual access to the movement mechanics over traditional dial presentations.
