Join Moderator Patrick_y as he takes us on a multi-part journey of the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition. This muti-part virtual tour of this incredible exhibition about the history of horology put on by Patek Philippe in New York City from July 13-23, 2017 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Our tour begins here...

An elegant hallway of patents, technical drawings, sketches, and more
line the hallway between the Theater and Current Collection rooms.

A
historical video about the history of horology in general, and about
the founding of Patek Philippe plays continuously in the theater.

Attend a special presentation of the 5531R new model launched by Patek Philippe here:
www.watchprosite.com

Entering Chamber 2, the Current Collection Room.

Constructed with a slight resemblance to the Geneva salon, the room is a
living catalogue of Patek Philippe's current offerings.

Notice the new 6006G (middle right). It looks mighty complex for a
Calatrava. Good looking watch with a design that resembles a car's
speedometer. Also, one of a few Calatrava models to include a deployant
clasp!

Some Aquanauts including the latest 5168G.

And all the Nautilus models are present. Which one would Captain Nemo wear?

About the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Jumbo Ref. 5168
The Patek Philippe Aquanaut reference 5168 represents the 42.2mm white gold iteration within the Aquanaut collection. Distinguished by its larger case size and precious metal construction, this reference occupies a premium position in the Aquanaut lineup, offering an elevated take on the model's contemporary aesthetic.
The 42.2mm case is crafted in 18k white gold and houses the automatic caliber 324 S C movement, providing a 45-hour power reserve. The black dial is protected by sapphire crystal, while the smooth bezel maintains the model's clean profile. Water resistance extends to 120 meters, and the watch is completed with a composite strap featuring a fold-over clasp.
In production since 2017, the reference 5168 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Patek Philippe sports watch in precious metal. The white gold construction and jumbo sizing distinguish this reference from smaller or steel variants within the Aquanaut range, positioning it as a substantial contemporary option for those favoring larger case proportions.

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5531
The Patek Philippe Reference 5531 is distinguished as a World Time Minute Repeater, a highly complex combination of two of Patek Philippe's signature complications. It was initially introduced as a limited edition, highlighting both the brand's technical prowess in horology and its artistic application of métiers d'art, specifically cloisonné enamel work on the dial, depicting urban landscapes.
The case of the 5531 measures 40.20 mm in diameter and 11.49 mm in thickness, crafted in rose gold. It is powered by the self-winding Caliber R 27 HU, an integrated movement that allows the minute repeater to chime the local time as indicated by the world time function. The watch features a sapphire crystal.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking Patek Philippe's high complications combined with unique artistic dials. The initial release in 2017 featured two distinct cloisonné enamel dial variants, each depicting a Manhattan skyline, one in a daytime scene and the other at night, further enhancing its exclusivity and collector appeal within the grand complication series.
