December 2012 – The world’s first new Richard Mille concept boutique will be inaugurated on December 14th, fronting the the prestigious façade of the Grand Hyatt Singapore, one of the great bastions of luxury in the Garden City.  The inauguration of the boutique will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Richard Mille, his partner Dominque Guenat, Asia Pacific business partner Dave Tan and friend of the brand, international celebrity, Datuk Seri Michelle Yeoh, who recently received an honorary French knighthood amongst her other numerous accolades.

After the ceremony, the new boutique will be unveiled in spectacular fashion true to Richard Mille’s edgy style, with over 300 esteemed guests having an exclusive opportunity to discover the new Richard Mille universe. Offering a glimpse of the arenas Richard Mille is most passionate about are watches on models donning high performance sports gears.

After the cocktail reception, the evening will continue to excite and titillate the senses. Step into party grooves at “Club RM” in Grand Hyatt’s luxury gallery which will be totally transformed for one night only. Move to the heart thumping music concoction as guest performance from internationally renowned DJ Leon Lanvin takes centre stage to kick off the show. Be dazzled by all-time popular and highly energetic K-pop girl band, Miss A, with an exceptional concert to round off the evening. Satiate the taste bud with the creative presentation of indulgent dessert art sculpture that is conceptualised based on Richard Mille’s planetarium by celebrity art dessert chef.

Unconventional Retail Concept
With one the brand’s largest and most innovative showroom covering 200 square metres (2,153 square feet), this new retail creation marks a new era in the watch retail world. A noticeable difference stands out even before you enter the new Richard Mille environment – a view from Orchard Road into the boutique captures a seemingly floating movement sculpture, constructed by experts specialized in the aerospace industry. From the lobby, seven majestic curved tonneau glass fronts the façade, creating a distinctive departure from the current retail concept.

Free rein has been given for the concept development, resulting in 5 ‘staged’ areas, application of new materials, a new color scheme all of which are set in  subtle lighting with the ceiling totally void of lights. A glass atelier allows visitors full view of the brand’s Swiss technician demonstrating his craft at his completely see-through work desk.

The focal point in the heart of the boutique showcases 24 display units that present some of the world’s most exceptional creations, with the signature RM008 glass animation feature that is entirely lit from the top & bottom.

Step up to the mirrored ceiling bar as you unwind to view the latest collections or enter the VIP room to be greeted with an unobtrusive shattered glass detailing in the wall panels and bookcase.

In sync with the brand’s DNA as a purveyor of unconventionality, experience and application of materials, no details have been spared in the architecture of this brand new Richard Mille experience.

Excited yet? Check in on 14 December 2012 and indulge your senses.

About the Richard Mille Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. RM008

The Richard Mille RM008 represents the brand's approach to high-complication watchmaking, featuring both a tourbillon and split-seconds chronograph function within a single timepiece. This reference combines two significant horological complications in Richard Mille's distinctive contemporary case architecture.

The 39mm titanium case houses the manual-winding RM008 caliber, providing a substantial 70-hour power reserve. The skeletonized dial construction reveals the movement's architecture, while sapphire crystal protects the face. Water resistance extends to 50 meters, and the watch is completed with a rubber strap. The fixed bezel maintains clean lines consistent with the overall design.

Produced between 2005 and 2010, the RM008 appeals to collectors seeking advanced complications in a modern presentation. The combination of tourbillon and split-seconds chronograph functionality positions this reference for enthusiasts focused on technical complexity rather than traditional dress watch aesthetics. The titanium construction and rubber strap reflect Richard Mille's contemporary material choices during this production period.
