I was fortunately invited by the boutique to the RM party 2011 - Charity Party "Dear Family".  As you may know, RM has already done the event once by auctioning the prototype of the new RM035 and this was the second attempt.  The party itself is the annual event, but this year the agenda is "charity" for "dear family".  It is very touching, and lots of fun.  On behalf of Japanese watch lovers, I thank RM for this event and its ambassadors (or "RM Family" as M. Mille calls them) who generously offered wonderful items, and those who won them.

See all the chairs are RM...

The back of this menu was the "paddle" for the auction held after the dinner.

Mr. Richard Mille

Encouraging messages from the "RM Family" or Ambassadors;

He was in Japan for the F1 Grand Prix this week, but couldn't make it for obvious reasons.  "They" have their event smile

Table setting.

Mr. Mille's speech:
He said he was so saddened by the disaster and he considers Japan as his family.  He also mentioned an interesting plan - Now the model number is almost using up 30s, but next is in 50s - as in 051 by Michelle Yeoh.  He skipped 40s because "4" means bad thing (the same pronunciation as "death") in Japan.  He knows a lot about Japan.

Richard Mille Japan CEO, Mr. Kawasaki, who had a hair cut at the airport as Mr. Mille's flight delayed and was "finger pointed" for the "change"....

Now, the star finally arrived, came last year, too.

Tuna cooking show...

Sorry for poor photos... :-(

Now the auction starts!  The first one is from Mr. Mille himself.

And the club from Babba Watson (lefty....)

From Pablo MacDonough

From Michelle Yeoh - the sword she used in this movie - couldn't make it here...

From Baptiste Giabiconi;

From Fellipe Massa (replica);

From Jackie Chan - A day with Jackie and the crew on the set of his next movie!

Wow!

From Rafael Nadal;

Wow again!

After the long fight....

Posing for PuristSPro - 027 on his wrist.

=======================================

And some wrist shots of the guests....

Very, very, very light, but not as light as 027 smile

A bit heavier than 027...

Very rare GG MOP dial - classic!

WARNING

Now, are you ready?  There is a phrase like "a million dollar view", but here is more like "THREE million dollar view".  Take a deep breath.  This, YOU DO NOT SEE EVERYDAY.

SIX (6) 027s!
Mr. Mille, Mr. Nadal, and FOUR Japanese 027 owners (out of five allocated to Japan).

Hope you enjoyed the report.

Thanks for reading.

Special thanks goes to Mr. Richard Mille, Ambassadors, all the staff of Richard Mille, especially Richard Mille Japan (Thank you, Shigeta-san!) for this generous and wonderful event.  Guests had lots of fun.

Ken

About the Richard Mille Rafael Nadal Ref. RM035

The RM 035 represents Richard Mille's skeletonized manual-winding offering within the RM 035 series. This Rafael Nadal model features a distinctive open-dial architecture that exposes the mechanical components, positioning it as a technical showcase within the brand's contemporary lineup.

The 43mm case is constructed from NTPT Carbon, fitted with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The skeletonized dial reveals the manual-winding RMUL3 caliber, which provides a 55-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, and the watch is completed with a rubber strap.

Produced from 2012 to 2018, this reference appeals to collectors seeking Richard Mille's signature technical aesthetic in a manually-wound format. The NTPT Carbon construction and skeletonized architecture position this model for enthusiasts who prioritize material innovation and visual access to the movement mechanics over traditional dial presentations.

Brilliant Ken!

All the fun and passion that could only come from Monsieur Mille and co! I particularly love that shot of all the 27s, as indeed you put it, not something you'll see everyday, if at all ever! Grazie for the event and bringing it to us mere mortals. Oh how i miss Tokyo. Ciao Stephen
