Concord's initial impressions of the Romain Gauthier Continuum Edition 3 sparked a lively debate among collectors. His appreciation for its unique textured dial and 'baby blue' accents highlights a key aspect of independent watchmaking: the constant evolution of design within a core reference. This article explores the community's varied reactions to Romain Gauthier's strategy of releasing multiple limited editions and the design choices that define the Continuum series.

...I like it a lot but wish there was a marker for '8'. Also, that logo has to go...
I'm enjoying my Bulgari Octo Finissimo. The Baby Blue accent is a no go for me.
28 edition 1, 38 edition 2, 38 edition 3, unlimited platinum blue and grey dials to rake in the $, piece unique enamel, etc. Green or purple must be next. At this rate, just release all the variants so customers can choose a favorite instead of trickling them out pretending they are special which they are, but not so special they won't release another variant in 2 months.
However, as much as I considered having one, (loved the red element), the unlimited limited approach is such a slap in your face, Honestly, I lose interest when I see that AP approach of unlimited limited takes the fun of the enjoyment from unique pieces. (the change of color etc ? its still the same watch!)
RG doesn’t need to artificially raise interest in their watches. They have enough awareness among aficionados to just do what they do best: make original, flawlessly executed and finished watches.
But there is truth to them.
