MTR's recent acquisition of the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly” offers a compelling case study in balancing haute horology with everyday wearability. His decision to part with a prominent Rolex reference to fund this independent piece highlights a growing trend among collectors prioritizing unique craftsmanship and personal connection over mainstream luxury. This article explores MTR's detailed review and the community's appreciation for his choice.

My dearest watch friends!

We’re talking about the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly” — which I was lucky enough to pick up from my AD just in time yesterday.

And to avoid any confusion: I am not referring to the ultra-exclusive ruby-set piece limited to 10 examples. Mine is the „profane“ one. 😁

But this is the version that truly speaks to me – the Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly” on a chocolate-brown rubber strap, limited to 100 pieces worldwide.

This model manages to balance refined craftsmanship with real-world wearability. The chocolate fumé dial with sunburst gradient tones, the warm red-gold case, and the perfectly matched rubber strap give it a unique character. And despite the flying tourbillon at six o’clock (attention Nico — there’s a hole in the dial! 😎), the watch remains absolutely practical – with a power reserve of 72 hours and a water resistance of 12 ATM.

I also don’t want to leave unmentioned that, to fund it, I sold my Rolex GMT-Master II “Rootbeer.” 🙏

Two reasons: in full Everose gold (watch AND bracelet) it simply felt a bit too flashy for me — beautiful, but not something I reached for often. And admittedly, letting it go made the investment in the new Moser a little easier to justify.

Today this Moser is more than just a watch — it’s my birthday companion. Celebrating the day in Venice, together with my partner and this new piece on my wrist, made it truly special. The city, the light, the reflections on the water — everything fits perfectly with the warm tones of the Streamliner.

A perfect moment, perfectly timed.
Sometimes the right watch finds you — exactly when it should.
