Polished titanium is a rather exclusive case material and rarely used. Polishing titanium is difficult, especially such curved case shapes as are the flanks of the UN Marine Series watches. Consequently, these cases are expensive. The positive side-effect of titanium is its low weight, which certainly improves the wearing comfort of a 45mm sports watch. Additionally, titanium is a bit harder than steel, so it should be more difficult to be scratched. However, the material starts oxidising in air
