Mark in Paris offers a first look at Vacheron Constantin's new Harmony line, unveiled for the brand's 260th anniversary. His initial impressions highlight the collection's refreshing departure from traditional round cases and its unique aesthetic details. Mark's overview sets the stage for a deeper exploration of these cushion-cased chronographs and dual-time models.

Gentlemen, ladies,

I've been able to have a closer look at some of the new Harmony family models from Vacheron Constantin. These new references have been unveiled this year to celebrate the 260th anniversary of the brand.

I'll be talking more precisely about these models later but wanted to make an overall presentation of what I could see by myself already.

With the American 1921 or the Quai de l'Ile and Malte models, the brand has shown a quite unusual "taste" in aesthetical design. The shape of this new line is no exception and I find "refreshing" that a traditional brand provides something other than round shaped cases.

Furthermore, some details on these dials are quite different from what we are used to seeing, but I would like to emphasize the fact that though it is different and new, it is usually very well done.

As an example, I would mention the numerals color or the power reserve layout on the men's chronograph. But I'll detail this later for each watch.

Harmony Chronographe "Petit Modèle" -

37 x 46.6 mm, with the Lemania based movement (1142 caliber) for this very nice lady model

Harmony Chronographe (men size) -

42 x 52 mm

Harmony Dual Time (samller size than the men's chronographe) -

40 x 49.28 mm

I'll come a little into details for some of these novelties but, yet, I'm very happy about this first meeting with these appealing watches and I would suggest you have a look at them if you can!

Cheers, Mark

About the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ref. American1921

The Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 is a distinctive reinterpretation of a cushion-shaped watch originally produced by the manufacture for the American market in the 1920s. This reference is characterized by its unique diagonal display, with the crown positioned at the 1 o'clock position and the dial rotated 45 degrees clockwise. This design was historically intended to allow drivers to read the time without removing their hands from the steering wheel, offering both a functional and aesthetically unconventional presentation within the Historiques collection.

This particular iteration of the American 1921 features a case crafted from precious metal, often rose gold, with a polished finish that highlights its cushion shape and stepped bezel. The watch is typically fitted with a manual-winding mechanical movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back, providing a power reserve suitable for daily wear. The crystal protecting the dial is also sapphire, ensuring clarity and scratch resistance.

The American 1921 appeals to collectors seeking pieces with historical provenance and an unconventional design. Its distinctive orientation and vintage inspiration make it a conversation piece and a unique offering within Vacheron Constantin's contemporary lineup. Various sizes have been produced, catering to different wrist preferences while maintaining the core design principles of the original 1921 model.

in to look at the new designs. The cushion case has been a weakness of mine for many years and this collection really shows it off with some brilliant design work. The dual time will be mine one day, the hunt is on. Best to all, Tim
