Kong provides a detailed pictorial report on Vacheron Constantin's post-SIHH HARMONY event in Singapore, celebrating the brand's 260th anniversary. The report showcases the unveiling of seven new limited-edition HARMONY models, highlighting the collection's design inspirations and technical innovations, including four new calibers.

This year Vacheron Constantin celebrated its 260th anniversary issuing 7 new limited anniversary editions (with 4 new calibres) for the HARMONY Collection.  Last night, Mr Julien Tornare, Managing Director of Vacheron Constantin Asia Pacific and Mr Christian Selmoni, Artistic Director of Vacheron Constantin joined the Vacheron Vacheron Constantin South East Asia Team to unveil the HARMONY collection to their guests in Singapore at the MAD Museum of Art & Design.

A recap of the evening followed with some photographs of the HARMONY Collection ...

Upon arriving, guests were treated to a mini-exhibition along with some cocktails & canapes ...

The photowall also displays the outline of the new 'reinvented cushion shape', demonstrating the shape-in-shape design which provides interesting 'light-play'.  Understand during the short talk from Mr Christian Selmoni, the case was designed with advance CAD software used in automotive industry for chassis design.

The 2015 HARMONY 260 Anniversary Collection

7 models and 4 new calibres for the HARMONY Chronograph and Dual Time Anniversary Collection :

1)       HARMONY ultra-thin grande complication chronograph with new inhouse Cal 3500, limited to 10 pieces in Pt and Boutique Exclusive
2)       HARMONY Tourbillon Chronograph with new inhouse Calibre 3200, limited 26 pieces in Pt and Boutique Exclusive
3)       HARMONY Chronograph with new inhouse Calibre 3300, limited to 260 pieces in Rose Gold
4)       HARMONY Chronograph Small Model with Calibre 1142, limited to 260 pieces in Rose Gold

5 & 6) HARMONY Dual Time with new inhouse Cal 2460DT, limited to 625 pieces each, in either White or Rose Gold
7)       HARMONY Dual Time Small Model with same Cal 2460DT, limited to 500 pieces in White Gold.

All models are Geneva Sealed certified.

1) HARMONY ultra-thin grande complication chronograph

This split-second monopusher model set a current world record for the thinnest self-winding movement measuring just 5.20 mm thick.  Encased in a platinum cushion-shaped  case of dimension 42mm x 52 mm and 8.40 mm height.
Spotting a opaline silver dial with blue Arabic numerals and red painted tachometer scale, paired with blued chronograph hands, leaf-type hands for the hours and minutes.

Small second is located at 9H position while the chronograph 60-min totaliser at 3H.  Power reserve indicator at 6H, which is a good to have but not necessary for a self-winding calibre.

The watch is matched with a nice blue Mississippiensis alligator hand-stitched strap with platinum triple blade folding clasp.

The outline contour provides nice lines.

The new inhouse self-winding Cal 3500, started its development since 2008.  Extremely please to have an unblock view of the movement with the smart implementation of the gold peripheral rotor with scrolling motif dedicated to these 260th Anniversary models (inspired the decoration of the first pocketwatch by Jean-Marc Vacheron) engraved by fleurisanne technique.
Power reserve is 51 hours and beat at 3Hz.  According to specifications, the lateral coupling clutch uses the ‘friction’ technique to prevent jerking of the chronograph second hand when the chronograph is started.  However the prototype was blocked.

Water resistance is rated to 3 Bar.  The serial number of the limited series is engraved onto the sapphire caseback and the Poinçon de Genève seal is stamped on one of the bridges.

2) HARMONY Tourbillon Chronograph

This tourbillon monopusher model like the above split-second chronograph piece, is boutique exclusive.  The Pt case dimension is similar at 42mm X 52m and slightly higher in height at 12.8mm. The tourbillon cage with a blued screw functions as a small-second indicator.  At 3H, the sub-dial is a 45-min totaliser instead of the typical 30 minutes.
Power-reserve indicator at 6H, and it is useful as this is manual-winding movement.

The new manual winding Cal 3200 is also in-house developed in 2008.  This monopusher movement is beautifully finished and tourbillon bridge is decorated with the anniversary engraving.
Little details like the column-wheel screw adorned with the brand-signature Maltese Cross emblem.  The power reserve is at respectable 65 hours and beat at 2.5Hz.

3) HARMONY Chronograph

This model is of close resemblance to the 1928 Chronograph piece with the pulsometer.  A medical personnel or a doctor's watch.
The case size is exactly the same as the  HARMONY Tourbillom (42mm X 52mm X 12.8mm), just that it is available in 5N Rose Gold, limited to 260 pieces.

Per the above two variations, opaline dial with blue Arabic numerals and red painted pulsometer scale (graduated for 30 pulsations). The hands related to chronograph are blued like the main chronograph second and the 45min-totaliser-hand, whereas for the time telling, the hour and minute leaf-hands and the small-second-hand are gold.  At 6H is the power reserve indicator, which is useful and congruent for a manual-winding calibre.

Beautiful side profile with the signed crown and monopusher.

The new Calibre 3300 is also finely decorated as it is likely the base for Cal 3200.  The balance cock is adorned with anniversary engraving.
Power reserve is at comfortable 65 hours and beats at 3 Hz.

4) HARMONY Chronograph Small Model

Per the specifications, this small model, limited to 260 pieces, is targeted for the ladies.  However it is a good size for gentleman with small wrists and like something extra with pave set diamonds.
This variation is available in 5N Rose Gold case of size 37mm X 46.6mm X 11.7mm with diamond-set bezel (84 round-cut diamonds, total weight of approx. 1.2 carats).
Similar colour scheme as the above models - opaline dial with blued hands for chronograph time-keeping and gold hands for time telling.

Movement is the manual-winding  Cal 1142, beats at 3Hz and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The balance cock is also decorated with the anniversary engraving.

5 & 6) HARMONY Dual Time

This Dual Time variation comes in either white gold or rose gold, limited to 625 pieces each.
Cushion case size is 40 mm x 49.3 mm X11.43 mm thick.

Opaline dial with blue Arabic numerals with the hour and minute leaf-hands in gold and the rest like the running second-hand, home-time-hands and day/night indicator are blued.

Within is the newly developed automatic Cal 2460DT, with anniversary pattern engraved gold rotor.  The calibre beats at 4Hz and has a power reserve of 40 hours.

7) HARMONY Dual Time Small Model

Lastly this is Dual Time Small Model for the ladies. Limited to 500 pieces in White Gold with 88 round-cut diamonds for a total weight of about 1.2 carats.
The case size is 37 mm x 46.6 mm X 11.2 mm thick.

Movement is the same as the above Dual Time, Cal 2460DT.
This lady's variation is matched with a beautiful light blue Mississippiensis alligator strap with 18K white gold triple blade folding clasp.

Initial impression, the first three variations, the cushion case looks big, but upon trying them out, they seats well and look classy.
So don't believe the photographs, go over to the Boutiques or authorised retailers to try them.

Thanks to the Vacheron Vacheron Constantin South East Asia Team for the invitation to view the HARMONY Collection.

thank you for taking them for us. The rattrapante is my favorite of the group, though beyond my means. Nice as these watches are, my favorite cushion shaped watch from VC remains the American 1921. Bill

for your kind words. I prefer the pulsometer variation for this collection. Likewise for cushion shape VC, the American 1921 still sticks in my mind. Kong

Mine was the appetizer to your main course! :p Great to see you that evening and thanks for all the nice photos with details for our community members here Your wrist size is good for the Harmony men series. For me I can only carry the ladies series so I hope they create a unisex version of the chrono and dual time without the diamonds on the bezel Cheers Robin

Kong Thanks for the detailed captioned photos. Where is this MAD gallery and what was the building used for before? Maybe they will use the movements in other shaped cases in future for those who are banned from buying cushion shape? ;) Traditionally, a True Grand Complication has at least three major complications: striking function, perpetual calendar and complicated chronograph. A tourbillon escapement was optional and did not count towards the 'Grand' label. Did I miss something? The Harmony
