Afaleh, a seasoned collector of Vacheron Constantin Overseas models, shares his profound admiration for a specific reference that he believes transcends even Patek Philippe's offerings. His post delves into the watch's unique personality, comfort, and luxurious yet approachable design, prompting a fascinating discussion about its perceived superiority and a particular design element that sparked community debate.

Yep, you right. For me Patek is just a luxury brand. VC is for passionated watch fans. I only like the Aquanaut and the World Timer. A caltrava, many others can do also perfect dress watches. A Patek i wil never have. A VC, sure i wil get a few of that great maison.
I am not a big fan of the Overseas but here, I would gladly make an exception if money wasn't a problem. Go! Best, Nicolas
Regarding PP vs VC I would say the are equally good 👍 I😏
Is it really plastic? Really does look it That would bother me tremendously Otherwise spectacular watch overall. Imagine if Patek came out with a skeleton Nautilus perpetual, people would kill for that. Yet here is an equally tempting proposition that no one seems to be talking about. It’s just that plastic disk
One of the most beautiful skeletonized watches I have seen
First of all, Amazing incoming and congrats! (Just in time for the auspicious/ festive time of Eid Al Adha?) Regarding the perpetual calendar, did you hear back from VC if that is indeed plastic? Is there anyone here with inroad/connections to VC to confirm? I looked at the picture and wondered what else it could be, instead of Plastic: i came up with one hypothesis, namely maybe “frosted glass / frosted sapphire glass” which would be much more in line with the positioning of such an amazing pie
