Jay (Eire)'s recent travels brought him to Kuala Lumpur, offering a glimpse into the vibrant WatchProSite community. His post highlights a personal meet-up with fellow member Ajas, showcasing their respective wristwear and the enduring appeal of specific Panerai references. This article delves into Jay's reflections on watch sizing and the camaraderie that defines the collector's journey.

Had some downtime in Asia and so decided to take a side trip to KL.  First time in Malaysia and KL was an “easy” destination.

Our dear member Ajas was kind enough to take some time out to meet up for a coffee.  He also brought some goodies from the recent P-Day which was here in KL.

Here are our wrist choices for the day; well mine is for a few weeks as I’m traveling.  It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a 232 in the metal.  This was the core Risti Radiomir when I used to frequent that forum, but it was also always too big for my wrist.  I owned a PAM 190 back in the day, 45mm, and more briefly a PAM 248.

Also, a few snaps from a walk about.

About the Panerai PAM00190 - Radiomir 8 Day Power Reserve Ref. PAM190

The PAM00190 represents Panerai's Radiomir 8 Day Power Reserve model within the Radiomir 8 Day series. This reference delivers extended power reserve functionality in the brand's cushion-shaped Radiomir case format, distinguishing itself through its manual-winding movement and eight-day running capability.

The watch features a 45mm polished steel case fitted with sapphire crystal and rated for 100-meter water resistance. The black dial provides contrast within the steel case construction. A fixed bezel surrounds the dial, while the manual-winding movement requires daily interaction from the wearer to maintain the extended power reserve function.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking substantial case presence combined with manual-winding engagement. The PAM190 offers entry into Panerai's extended power reserve complications while maintaining the fundamental Radiomir case architecture. The combination of 45mm sizing, steel construction, and manual movement positions this model for enthusiasts who prioritize mechanical interaction and substantial wrist presence.

The PAM 190 remains to this day the watch I got the most compliments on from random strangers.

I’m on a roll, this is the third member I’ve met in person for the first time in the last month. I must post about that separately.
