High frequency watches became a focus for the author after compiling a list of calibers. They acquired a vintage Grand Seiko 45GS 4520-8000, belonging to the classical era, and detailed the historical evolution of the brand. The watch adheres to the 'Nine Enduring Elements' of Grand Seiko Style.

I was surprised by how a strap change could significantly alter the look of a watch.. As what JC Biver had said in a Hodinkee video (with regard to the AP Royal Oak Offshore): "When you take the bracelet away, the look of the case becomes more obvious, and stronger, than when you have the bracelet".
