📖 About This Reference

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Automatik reference 303.032 in 18kt rose gold with a silver dial represents a thoughtful concession from a manufacture historically devoted to hand-winding: the integration of automatic winding into the classical 1815 design. For collectors who admire the 1815's aesthetic purity but prefer the convenience of a self-winding mechanism, the 303.032 offers the best of both worlds. The 37mm case is marginally larger than the manual-wind 1815, accommodating the automatic caliber while maintaining the collection's refined proportions. The caliber L921.4 is an automatic movement of considerable distinction. Rather than relying on a conventional full rotor that would obscure the movement's finishing, A. Lange & Söhne employs a design that allows the full beauty of the Glashuette-decorated plates and bridges to be appreciated through the sapphire caseback. With 45 hours of power reserve, the L921.4 provides reliable autonomy for daily wear, and the silver dial displays hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds with the clean legibility that characterizes every watch in the 1815 family. The 1815 Automatik in rose gold bridges two philosophies that sometimes stand in tension within traditional watchmaking: the romance of hand-winding and the pragmatism of automatic operation. A. Lange & Söhne resolves this tension with characteristic elegance, delivering a self-winding watch that sacrifices nothing in terms of finishing, design integrity, or connection to the brand's heritage. Reference 303.032 is the daily-wear Lange for the collector who wants Ferdinand Adolph Lange's legacy on the wrist every day, wound by the motion of life itself.

Considerations for buying an older Lange? (1815 Automatik)
Hi everyone. Thanks for the wonderful info and photos over the last few months. (Hope nobody minds that I also posted this on TimeZone.) As a huge fan of the 1815 series, I'm considering buying one of the (very few) 1815 Automatiks that occasionally come on the market (303.021, 303.025, 303.032), ma

Considering first Lange - opinions on 1815 Saxomatic?
Hi all, I am considering a lightly used 1815 Saxomatic ref 303.032 in 37 mm. Red Gold. This will be a big step up for me, have only owned Rolex, Panerai and similar so far. So quite uncertain whether or not to pull the trigger. Would this be a good place to start with ALS? Any opinions, pros or cons

Some news for Lange camp
I had some reports from TZ that Lange will be with some new introductions in addition to double split chronograph. A new chrono 1815 with datograph movement, 1815 with saxomat movement, and Caberat with moon phase. If this is true, I think 1815 chrono and Caberat moon phase could be very exciting.
