There are watches, there are chronographs, there are
rattrapantes, and then there is the Lange Double Split! And among the Double Splits, there is only
one that inspired me to create the “Mighty Double Split” moniker that is
associated with the watch today – and this is the one.
Pending incoming pieces (and a wife who wisely forbids my
increasing the amount of money in my watch collection any further) are forcing
some really tough decisions, and so after 7 years of ownership for me it’s time
for this legendary piece to go to another happy home.
Watch is in near-mint condition, having been worn
occasionally over the past several years since a complete service by
Lange.
Complete set with all boxes, papers, and records. The only issue worth noting is that one of
the seams of the outer cardboard box was torn when I originally received the
watch – I’m guessing that this could be mended with like-color tape or that
Lange might even agree to replace the box, but I’ve never pursued it as the
boxes have been in dry storage.
Watch will be sent on the black Lange strap with PT tang
buckle unless you want to make a really good offer on the IWC Santoni strap
seen in the photos, which I have to confess looks killer on this watch!
