Audemars Piguet Starwheel 18K pink gold

For sale here is a very unique and rare timepiece, the Audemars Piguet Starwheel in Rose Gold, produced in the 1990s. It comes with original AP strap and buckle. AP's "Starwheel" watch is reminiscent of the 17th century "wandering hours" dial, with hours indicated within an aperture. The epicycloidal system was first employed by the Campani brothers of Rome, who used it in their nocturnal clocks during the second half of the 17th century. Watch is in excellent condition. No boxes or papers. I bought it at an international auction. Diameter is 36mm, automatic AP winding movement, Cal. 2124, rhodium plated, "fusses-cotes" decoration, 33 jewels with a 21k gold rotor. The time is indicated by three rotating transparent sapphire discs. Each disc is painted with four hour indicators and are attached to a rotating center wheel. As the discs turn, the hour indicators rotate into view and pass over the minutes. The time is displayed where the visible disc points to the current minutes. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal display back. It is understood that AP took one and a half years to develop this watch. At a recent international auction, a similar watch was sold for US$14,000 (before the 25% commission). My price is now US$10,500. I accept bank wire transfer.
