Audemars Piguet Starwheel

this is the first version of the famous Audemars Piguet Starwheel released in 1991. the starwheel display with sapphire discs was revolutionary in its day. although this had been done long before on a pocketwatch this was the first ever watch to use this system of displaying the time. it was the precursor to watches like Urwerk and the Opus 5. the yg case is approx 36mm diameter and extremely thin at about 6mm. the dial has the barleycorn pattern engraved on it. there is another version with arabesque engraving. you can see the automatic movement through the display back. it is adjusted to 5 positions and temp so is chronometer grade. there is no second hand so checking its accuracy is impossible, but it seems fine to me when worn for several days at a time. the watch is in 95%+ condition. it was last serviced in 2000, but it was a safe queen until i purchased it in 2007. it has been worn quite often since. it comes with an original AP gloss croc strap and gold tang buckle plus its boxes, hang tags and blank papers. i also have an email from AP archives confirming the details of the watch and the year it was made. you rarely see these come onto the market, in fact i dont recall seeing another since i bought mine. this is your chance to buy a revolutionary and uncommon watch. my loss is your gain. i am willing to consider offers so feel free to pm me.
