Hello Gentlemen, For sale, is a gorgeous 100% original and early vintage Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 3-6-9-12 Aqua Lung 1000 ft. This dial configuration is one the most desirable of the early Fifty Fathoms line and VERY RARE!! In fact, Blancpain recently released a reintroduction of this particular model into their current lineup. The original Fifty Fathoms have become extremely difficult to source and highly collectible and this example is no exception. Dial: The 3-6-9-12 Aqua Lung dial configuration is very rare and highly desirable. To many collectors, this is one of the most sought after dial configurations. The radium markers and numbers are all full and fat with no distortion or discoloration. The hands are also in great condition and are 100% matching. Uniquely, the dial has a very special “stardust” effect that is very rarely seen on Blancpains and only adds to the beauty of this amazing and rare dial. Bezel: The radium Bakelite bezel is in fantastic condition. Even in color, it has formed a patina over the years. The outer bezel is also sharp and all teeth are there. In addition, the bezel locking mechanism is still in working condition, meaning to turn the bezel, pressure must be applied downwards before turning. It was a feature that were designed to prevent accidental rotating when in action. Case: This particular example demonstrates what an excellent early Fifty Fathom specimen should represent. The case is in all original condition and never polished. There are normal wear and marks over the decades on the case. The edges are all sharp and defined and the lugs, being very full, still resemble the original shape. Serial numbers are clearly visible on the caseback.
