Blancpain Leman

Sellers Comments: This is ref# 2863-3642-53B as listed in the current catalog. It is the classic layout with Day of the Month and Month displayed through 2 windows above the centerline, and the moon phase and sweep small seconds hand below. The date is displayed by a hand with a half-moon cutout pointing to numbers on the circumference of the dial. Very elegant. I bought this in April/May 2010 as second owner; it was bought originally from AD Tourneau NYC, and I also bought it from an AS - this is no gray market timepiece. It features BP's patented underlug correctors  for the calendar, as well as BP's special tool to do so. I also have 2 of Blancpain's special gold-plated, curved spring bars for use if one does a lot of strap changes. The current strap is the original dark brown crocodile Blancpain strap, showing little or no use.

I have only worn the watch 2-3 times, and never outside my home. I am szelling only because the 40mm is a bit too large for my slender wrist, and since this is a sporty but elegant timepiece, looks mean a lot. Many would have absolutely no issue with the size, since the BP trademark stepped double bezel makes the watch look smaller than most thin 40's. But I believe watches are to be worn, not to be musueum pieces, and most of the time my Blancpain has sat in a climate-controlled safe. It needs a new home, and I am pricing it fairly considering its age and overall condition/finish and provenance.

Watch Condition: Mint - watch has been polished to a high degree of luster and I can see no defects to the naked eye - perhaps a few spiderweb scratches under a 10x Zeiss loupe, and the tiniest ding or two as well. It keeps great time - 1-2 seconds fast a day, and even a bit more accurate if one wants to dabble with positioning. The clear caseback lets one see the calibre 6763 with a rhodium plated winding rotor in the cotes de Geneve style and understated Leman monochrome finish.
