1947 Breitling Chronomat 217012 Restored, with Papers & Provenance! This was my grandfather's army-issue, 1947 Breitling Chronomat 217012, Model 769. It was professionally restored, upon Breitling's reference, by Mark C. Heist, Watchmaker in December 1993. In fact, the watch was delivered to the Breitling factory first, and then forwarded to Mr. Heist for reconditioning and complete refurbishment. The serial number has been verified and coded at the Breitling factory, for authenticity and in the event of theft. Papers documenting the build, and certifying the authenticity and serial number are included, as are detailed instructions on the use and function of the slide-rule bezel. The watch functions flawlessly. This is a very rare and unique opportunity to own one of the only, if not the only 1947 army-issue Chronomat to exist that has been fully reconditioned and papered by the factory and its designated restoration professionals.
