Slight Dilemma
Considering a Cartier Tank watch priced at $3800 versus a Longines Dolce Vita at $2000. Dilemma between heritage and savings of $1800. Both part of rotation, not everyday watch. Seeking thoughts and ideas.

I hope you won't be too disappointed... if this response is simply in praise of this extraordinary timepiece, rather than an offer. My financial pockets are unfortunately not this deep (though were I to sell most of my collection I suppose I'd figure that borrowing the extra that it would take would be well worth contemplating). But I'd just like to say that I'm stunned that it didn't sell in a day!

There are many unusual and beautiful watches for sale here, but I keep coming back to this one as the one I would choose had I the funds to purchase my choice of them all. In fact, I can imagine it as my "one watch," that rarest of rare timepieces that satisfies all conditions (save mowing the lawn) and occasions. Yes, this is the watch, and my hat is off to you for having picked it up in the first place.

I've read your longer description on your web pages, and so am all the more impressed with its lineage. Is the fact that it is still on the market simply an example of how personal a choice a timepiece is? (Or have I mistakenly missed the fact that it is no longer for sale?) In any and all cases please accept my sincere congratulations. For me, this is a timepiece of a lifetime.

Have a fine day.

All good thoughts,

Fred Halgedahl
