Description

As the title suggest, I am selling a Chronoswiss 18k ALL gold Pathos. Truly an exceptional timepiece and the FIRST ever skeletonized rattrapante (split-second) automatic chronograph wristwatch made. It was introduced in 1998 at Basel and won the coveted Innovation award for that year!! Now discontinued since 2008, it is not a watch you will come across often to say the least. I have done the research and my Pathos in 18k is the ONLY Pathos in GOLD to have ever been listed on TZ, WN, or Purists. Truly RARE, especially with the 18k ALL gold bracelet to boot. Very substantial on the wrist with INCREDIBLE presence. With the bracelet it weighs in at just under 210g, roughly 7 onces of gold!!

Here is some info on the watch itself:

Technical details: Reference: CH 7321 S, 18ct. gold

Displays: Hour, minute, second Chrono-center-second with fly-back hand 30-minute-register, 12-hour-register

Case: massive 25-part case, ø 38 mm, height 15,25 mm, smoothed and polished, screwed, decorative bezel with non-reflective sapphire crystal, screwed back with full thread and non-reflective sapphire crystal, turnip crown and pushers, fly-back hand pushers red gilt, screwed-on strap bars with patented Autobloc safety system,water-resistant up to 3 atm (30 m)

Movement: Skeleton chronograph with automatic winding mechanism and patented split-second function, pillar wheel with clam set, patent number 682201-OG, Chronoswiss Caliber C.732 S,ø 30 mm (13¼ ´´´), 28 Jewels, Incabloc shock-absorber,46 hours power-reserve, 4 Hz., 28.800 vibrations per hour (vph)

Dial: skeletonized, white-varnished metal dial with printed Roman numerals, minute-circle with ¼ second-division, individually numbered, blued steel hands, red gilt fly-back hand.

Last known retail value in 2008 was $36,700. Since then, gold has risen 70%!! If it was still produced today, the retail would be well over $40,000. Just look at the retail value of an Opus with gold bracelet. It is similar in price to my Pathos due to the continued price increases and gold price adjustment.

I am asking $15,000 for my Pathos which represents 65% off its UNADJUSTED retail!! With today's gold prices hovering at $1800 per once , retail would be well over $40,000!! Price includes shipping via USPS Registered mail FULLY insured to CONUS or Canada. Would consider shipping worldwide for slightly more but would need to work out the details and liability. I could also have the watch shipped from inside EU as well.

I would be inclined to sell JUST the bracelet as well and would be happy to keep just the watch to wear on a strap.

The bracelet is stunningly detailed and one of the most comfortable bracelets I own due to the beads of rice design. It just drapes the wrist like silk. Just too much bling for me.

Retail is just over $14000. The bracelet weighs in at 130g which by today's gold price means its worth $5600 ALONE, that is just the melt value in gold content!!

I would consider selling it for $6500 or would consider a trade of some kind. The bracelet is in 95% condition. Price includes shipping via USPS Registered mail FULLY insured to CONUS or Canada. Would consider shipping worldwide for slightly more but would need to work out the details and liability. I could also have the watch shipped from in the EU as well.

I would be open to trades up, down, or straight across for the watch and/or just the bracelet. Let me know what you have.

I've been around for a long time with MANY outstanding references which I would gladly forward to interested parties.

Sorry for the poor pic quality, I can assure you the watch is EXQUISITE in person. TRULY STUNNING and a real HEAD TURNER!!
