An unique tonneau shaped case makes Daniel Roth’s watches instantly recognizable. Moreover, every piece of Daniel Roth watch is precious and collectible. The Metropolitan is a typical example of Daniel Roth’s superb watch making skill. It is a unique and very practical world time watch and has an amazing dial which shows the time clearly. It is a world time watch but you only see two different time zones at one time and is simple to change the city (by pressing the pusher at 4). This model was designed personally by Daniel Roth before his departure from the watch house i.e. before Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta were acquired by Bulgari, hence it is highly collectible. The Daniel Roth Calibre DR700/21 26 jewels automatic movement is accurate to a tolerance of two seconds a day. This watch is on a signed black crocodile strap with a deplayant clasp. The handsome charcoal gray guilloche dial has bright florescent Arabic numerals. The Metropolitan World Time offers an independently adjustable second time zone function. It also has a daylight saving time function, an important feature that is not found in all other high grade travel watches (the DST function is patented and unique to Daniel Roth). A summary of its functions : Hours and minutes in the center- Hour hand for the time zone of reference (home time) – indication of reference time zone in a window at 6 o’clock – indication of 24 cities in a window at 12 and 6 o’clock for each time zone (intuitive to use – city disc with a black background corresponds to black tipped hand) – Summer/ winter indicator at 9 . Watch was purchased from Hour Glass, Singapore which used to own Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta until they were sold to Bulgari. Thus far, I have only put it on my wrist for a one week trip, hence the condition is well above 95%, without a scratch or flaw on the case or crystal, other than a few very minor hairlines on the bezel where a shirt sleeve has rubbed on it. It comes with all boxes and papers. The watch was last retailed for US$10,250 but I am asking for only US$6000 for this top quality and unique world time watch. I accept bank wire transfer.
