Despite being an independent watchmaker, De Bethune is well known by the broader public thanks to his spectacular creations, where horological mastery and eclectic design are fused together and rendered in avant-garde cases, heat or chemically treated to shine in the strangest and brightest finishes.

The watch we’re offering today represents one of the most sought after amongst De Bethune’s creations: it’s the DB28 Kind of Blue, characterised by the 12 o’ clock winding crown and by the hollowed, slanted lugs. The dial is partially skeletonised, and the movement can be seen underneath it.

But what makes the piece truly special is the case, dial and movement finishing: they are blued-out through a heat treatment. The look of the watch is something really unique, and makes it one of the most particular creations of independent watchmaking. Manufactured and sold in 2021, the watch is preserved in great conditions and delivered as a full set.
