F.P. Journe Elegante Titalyt 48MM (case is 48mm tall, 40mm wide 7.95mm thick)
This quartz FP Journe timepiece is an extremely enjoyable
timepiece, especially for those who live in tropical warm climates. It even has a rubber strap that is easy to
use and to change colors with.
The "tortue" (French for "turtle") case features a titalyt coating that is resistant to
extremely fine scratches (like sweater scratches that would otherwise cause a
polished metal surface to have fine swirl marks) and the watch exhibits a
modern appearance. Combined with the colorful silicon straps, this watch lends itself perfectly for casual weekend wear with a colorful linen shirt. Again, the watch is not 48MM in diameter all the way around, the case is 40mm wide (3 to 9) and 48mm tall (12 to 6).
The movement is also extremely accurate (it’s Quartz) and
the watch is entirely reliable (it’s battery powered so it never stops). FP Journe boutique staff anticipates with
regular use the battery should last longer than a decade; up to 18 years if the
watch is only used occasionally. The
watch keeps time as long as the battery has charge, but only displays the time
when the wearer is actually wearing the watch.
Thus, when the watch senses no motion, the hands go to “sleep” to reduce
energy consumption. It's quite handy, whenever you pick up this watch, even after weeks of non-use, the watch immediately moves the hands to show the correct time.
Condition: Watch is in near new condition, and has been gently and
carefully worn seldomly. Watch is part of a multiple watch collection and is worn infrequently. Watch has never been polished. No case
damage, never dropped, watch runs well. Sapphire crystal has no
chips nor scratches and is in PERFECT condition. The bezel is in PERFECT
condition and shows the watch was never polished. Strap and clasp show
ZERO scratches. Pay close attention to the bezels of other similar watches, they often have little chips in the applied TITALYT coating and the base metal shows through. The bezel on this example is in excellent condition. A GREY strap is included. An additional blue strap and an additional orange strap are available for purchase with their deployant buckles. It's good to have a spare deployant buckle in case you scratch one of them!
