My mother always told me to "think before you do". However, she never
mentioned "try before you do". Unfortunately, this is an instance where
the latter would have saved me a lot of time and money.
I just bought this watch a little more than a week ago. I wore it for
the first time last Friday. I placed it back in the box, and I decided
to give it another try today. It just isn't my style, which is
unfortunate; the watch is so absolutely beautiful. I guess I shouldn't
have bought it without trying it on, but I supposed that's the cost of
the hobby.
Because this watch is practically new and worn twice (both times
inside the house), it's in 98%+ condition (literally). Everything is
perfect, and there are 0 scratches (even minor ones) that I can see.
This
watch is purchased from an AD, so it includes absolutely everything -
all boxes, papers (Glashutte Original uses a booklet, similar to AP),
stamped AD warranty (from 05/14/09), all extra links, original tag,
polishing cloth, and even the protective plastic film.
Retail on this is exactly $10k. I've never seen a Glashutte
Original AD offer more than 15% off (and that's what I paid, $8,500).
Asking
$6,849 OBRO shipped CONUS, please add $50 for international. I'll take
this loss as a lesson to try on watches before buying. I'm in Southern
California, so face to face here would be great as well.
Trades considered: Rolex GMT II ceramic, some sort of Panerai
(088/312 would be great), with appropriate and fair cash adjustment
either way. I will consider other watches, but please keep the values
within relative proximity (no trades for $500 or $50,000 pieces, for
instance).
Oh yeah, plenty of references around the world available. I'm also
a member of the SoCal Panerai club, so those members can vouch for me
as well.
