IWC Portofino 5251

Up for sale is a rare IWC 5251 closed back, considered by many as one of the most beautiful watches ever produced. This was recently purchased from a well known IWC collector and fellow Purist. Although I love the watch so much, I am selling to partially finance another purchase of a very rare grail that has made itself available. The watch comes with original strap and yellow gold buckle in addition to an almost new and gorgeous Santoni strap and IWC rose gold buckle. Comes with original box in very poor condition, and no original papers (just duplicate copies of service locations and general guarantee). Plexiglass and case have a few shallow scratches that can be lightly polished off. This particular closed back piece is rarer than the display back piece, and through the case serial number is dated 1982. The diameter is 46mm, and thickness just over 10mm. The condition of this piece is 90%, and the Calibre 95 is performing as expected, and the quick-adjust of the moonphase executes perfectly (meaning when you move the hands back and forth 12 mid-night, from 10 pm to 2 am, you will be quick-adjusting the moonphase forwards). Bought this watch for $19,000 and paid more than $1,000 for the new strap and buckle. Priced at $20,000 with small room for negotiation.
