FS: JeanRichard TV Screen Rattrapante Here we have a truly beautiful JeanRichard chronograph with a rare and difficult complication. The Rattrapante or ‘split-seconds’ function which allows the watch to time 2 events simultaneously. This watch is based on the popular TV screen line which is a lovely cushion shape and measures 39x41mm and about 14mm thick. It has a lot of presence on the wrist due to its shape. This example comes with a great back pinstripe dial with silver subdials , numerals and hands and a sapphire crystal with solid steel caseback. Depending on the light, the dial can appear either matt black or with the pinstripes shining through. Very elegant indeed. The watch uses the ubiquitous and reliable Valjoux 7750 as a base, but this has been modified in house to support the split seconds mechanism. It is quite rare to feature just 2 subdials, a running seconds and 30 minute counter with this complication, but it makes the watch supremely balanced and attractive. Most other split seconds using this base calibre have the normal 7750 layout with a date subdial at 3 O clock, but they do not achieve the symmetry shown here. This watch is truly in 97% condition or greater and has been worn for literally a handful of times. Purchased in November 2012 with full boxes and paperwork, it is immaculate. Retailing for over $8000, mine is available as possibly the cheapest Rattrapante watch on the market in comparable condition for $2300 ono. The watch is in Australia (so am I).
