Description

Hi folks,

It has been a great journey through collecting vintage Omega pieces, and one of my greatest, near impossible feat that I have ever accomplished, is to lay my hands on this super rare piece. Rare has been a much abused word nowadays and this particular model, definitely fit into the rare category, plus, with the extra stuff you are getting in this deal, and the specific condition this specimen is in, may I add in "VERY rare" to describe this watch? smile

In case you didn't know about this, according to Omega, there were only a total of 200 solid gold (weighs about 200 grams!) Flightmasters made, and only 20 were made with solid gold bracelets. This is one of the 20 pieces ever made! (see picture below for the cert)

Watch has been serviced by Omega in Bienne and has been issued with a certificate of extract from the archieves, together with service papers. Watch parts are changed, AND the original old parts are returned and in the same state as it was. Case is crisp sharp, and the whole watch is almost looking like a BRAND new old stock watch. Original bracelet is lengthy, and was never resized. Basically, the watch before it was sent to Omega Bienne, spent nearly its entire life probably in a safe, judging from the aged tritium (as it was not bleached by the UV light and condition of paint in hands, dial is near perfect).

Notable parts that were changed:

Dial, Hands, Crystal, pushers, crowns, gaskets and some old parts in the movement

as mentioned, the old parts were returned, especially important to the quintessential collector. smile

And the old parts were in 99% condition for the 18k solid gold dial, hands (tritium aged to a perfect beautiful sunset yellow), and crystal in 90% scratched condition.

Enough of words, here are the actual watch and the goodies (extra strap too!) you will receive:

My asking price is USD 36k, or your best offer. Low ballers will be politely ignored. I will only accept wire or cash on delivery. I can do a meet up in person, or to your country if you will pay my tickets smile

If the above pictures do not load, means the watch is sold.

Speedmaster or Daytona?
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional ref. 310.30.42.50.04.001 with manual-winding caliber Omega 3861 and 50 m water resistance vs. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116500LN with self-winding caliber 4130 and 100 m water resistance. Author prefers Omega despite water resistance drawback.

Not quite as rare as the "Golden Seamaster" Desmond wrote about, but in the ballpark and especially in Rose Gold:

“All the hype, none of the fun.” Discuss.
Swatch x AP release and MoonSwatch generate hype and excitement. Swatch focuses on fun and fashion at affordable prices. Limited editions like AP and Journe lack the same enjoyable experience.

RDS suggested a Geneve I posted recently would be suitable for James Bond in formal attire. How about a Constellation Tuxedo:

OK, who here has ever owned a Swatch?
Swatch's 1980s innovation reshaped the watch industry by revitalizing Swiss watches as fun, affordable lifestyle accessories. Its global success, selling over 700 million watches, saved the Swiss watch industry, making watches fashionable collectibles and influencing watch culture significantly.
