Description

FS: Patek 5050 - Patek Phillipe retrograde Perpetual Calendar - Amazing condition & complete

The 5050 - the first sweep seconds perpetual from Patek since the legendary Ref 2497

Incredible condition - the hallmarks on the side of the case are DEEP and crisp. Patina developing to the case, which I believe has never been polished (and this patina is a good sign of that)

Comes with everything pictured, which includes:
- Certificate of Origin
- Second solid back with correct case number
- Original period era correct winding box
- Outer cardboard Patek box
- Correct period era instruction manual
- Pin pusher with correct Patek punched hallmarks
- Correct period era envelope which has the reference and movement number on it (nearly impossible to find)
- Patek strap (as seen in the pictures)
- Patek gold deployant clasp with crisp hallmarks
- Patek leather folder (which did not show up in the picture, but is included)

I have yet to see another Patek 5050 that has the correct manual and correct period era envelope with movement number. Details and condition matters most when collecting Patek.  It is impossible to find one with this level of completeness and in this condition - discontinued reference.

Here is your chance to get a Grand Complication from Patek and one of the most beautiful perpetual calendars ever made.

World low price - and for a watch of this rarity and quality, for a grand complication from Patek, that's remarkable.
A few Patek 5050s are on ebay/chrono24, none as nice as this, and every single one is more expensive to boot!

Wire only, price includes free shipping in the US but open to international sales depending on country), FedEx insured from here in San Francisco, CA. Lots of references. Thanks for looking!

📖 About This Reference

The Patek Philippe Reference 5050 introduced a significant design element to the brand's perpetual calendar offerings: the retrograde date display. This reference was notable for being the first Patek Philippe wristwatch to feature a retrograde date, a complication that sees the date hand sweep along an arc and then instantly spring back to the beginning of the month. It represented a modern interpretation of traditional calendar functions, distinguishing it from other perpetual calendar models that utilized sub-dials for date indication. This innovation provided a cleaner dial aesthetic while maintaining full calendar functionality. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the case of the Reference 5050 measures 36 mm in diameter, offering a balanced presence on the wrist. The watch is powered by the self-winding caliber 240 Q, a movement known for its slim profile and micro-rotor construction, which allows for a more compact case design. This movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, and the watch is water-resistant to 25 meters, suitable for everyday wear. For collectors, the Reference 5050 holds importance as the progenitor of Patek Philippe's retrograde perpetual calendar lineage. Its introduction marked a new chapter in the brand's exploration of calendar complications, appealing to those who appreciate both technical innovation and classic design. The reference was produced from 1993 to 2008, and while the initial models featured the caliber 240 Q, later iterations sometimes incorporated the caliber 315 S QR or 324 S QR, reflecting ongoing movement developments within the brand.

A Patek dream
Dream watches in rose gold, Patek Philippe preferences, like curves in case design, admire case profiles; favorite 240 HU, but LF micro rotor is better. References include 5196R-001, 5050R-012, 5960R-001, 5110R-001.

Patek 5050 Revisit
Patek 5050, to me, is the most understated perpetual calender that bears a similar desirability to Patek 3448 and 3450. The dial design is uncluttered and minimalist for a retrograde perpetual. Its case design is also very simple with no intention to steal any attention from its dial. The dome sapph
