Are auction prices 'real'?
Sotheby's auction in 2025 saw low prices for Patek watches: 5270G for 95,250 Euros, 5960P for 40,640 Euros, 5070G for 50,800 Euros. Author questions low prices, especially for recent models. Seeking insights and comments on the matter.

Patek 3700 Crystal - Bezel gap question
Just acquired a vintage Patek Philippe 3700/1a (1977) with a polished finish. Slight gap on crystal noted, wondering if it's normal. Overall happy with the purchase. Videos uploaded for clarity.

Apologies You're right, sorry my mistake, this is YELLOW GOLD the J variant.
FabR Apr 16, 2021
Yes, you could have been a bit more careful -- the Christie's auction were you lifted these pictures clearly stated it's a J ;-) And now, if you're really trying to sell YOUR 5170J, please post two more pictures of it, with time set at 4:04 and 8:08 respectively. You have 6 hours to do this.
Also, next time you log in, do so using a *standard* Internet connection, for instance from your home/work computer or your phone.
I'm very much looking forward to your next post with the pictures...;-)

Yes... I bought it from the Christie’s auction last year so these are the actual pictures of the watch.

The papers with the same purchase date... As the pictures show.

Thanks for providing the above pictures to prove possession of the watch, and also for complying with the request to log in using a regular server. For future reference, please understand that scams are *very* frequent in the watch world. Unfortunately, nearly all new posters who use pictures taken without acknowledgement from the web for their ads, and then even log in in a "non-standard" fashion, turn out to be illegitimate. I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt today, and I'm glad it worked out for you (right before I was about to take all the necessary steps in these situations to protect our members). But please make sure to use your own pictures in any future advertisement, and/or to explicitly acknowledge the proper sources in those rare instances where you do not (which is *never* recommended for a FS ad).

Thanks for your cooperation in keeping our Market a safe place! ;-)

Even though you have now demonstrated possession of the watch, the usual recommendation to exercise caution during any transactions remains in place -- for both buyers and sellers.
