Description

Interestingly, the queries I've gotten have indicated folks are daunted more by the price than by the technical nature of the project. As a result, I'm willing to let the movement alone sell for $450...the case and movement for $600 ...the price for the case alone remains $200.

For sale is a Piaget Cal. 12P time-only movement. This was bought with the intent to have a custom-made watch built, but I have taken my collection in other directions. This movement is complete but for the hour wheel. A factory movement ring is included.

The 12P, no longer in production, was introduced in 1959 and for many years was the thinnest automatic watch movement ever made. It is famous, outrageously thin (2.3mm), and very hard to find uncased. All parts of this movement move freely, it ticks heartily and appears to be a good runner, but has not been serviced nor timed. It has been uncased for an undetermined period of time and will require cleaning & lubrication before being put into daily use.

It is not cosmetically perfect--there are various minor scratches on the bridges and minor discoloration of the finish. If you're seeking an A-1 flawless Piaget movement for show, this is not your item. If you want to make something unique using a rare and historic caliber, this may be the movement for your project. No dial or hands are included.

Please see the photos below (click for larger images) and feel free to e-mail me with questions.
Price: was $525…NOW $450!

…Also available for $200 is a lovely 18k case (ca. 1940s) from Universal Geneve. This case was intended by me to house the Piaget movement--and will require modifications to the inside diameter for that purpose. Dimensions are:
34 mm across
17 mm lug width
9 mm thick (with existing domed plexiglass)
29 mm crystal
~26.5 mm movement ring inside diameter.
No modifications to either the case or the movement have been undertaken to date. All items are sold as they are--no guarantees, aside from authenticity, are implied or offered.

Price for case and movement: $600 (reduced from $725). Paypal is preferred, though USPS money order and certified check are also fine options and acceptable.

Thanks for looking,
Brad
