This is a recent estate sale find. When I bought the watch it looked as if it had not been touched for 25 years. I have had the movement expertly cleaned and serviced and the crystal replaced with a new Rolex plastic crystal. All the work was done with the intent of wearing the watch often but, sadly, It has mostly been left on the winder. I have saved the old crystal and will send it with the watch if you like. I do have a box but do not have any papers or booklets. The watch is 100% guaranteed authentic or full refund.
The 1570 movement is pristine and keeping very good time. Just serviced in October 2008
The dial is mint, untouched with Submariner in red and the original tritium markers nicely aged to a light cream patina. Note the word Submariner is more narrow than the depth rating. This is the original red sub dial.
The hands are perfect original hands with the patina of the tritium matching the markers exactly.
The bezel is the original bezel with intact tritium dot, slightly more yellowed than the hands or markers.
Crown is the Original triplock crown.
The case is in really good shape. There are a couple of faint marks from wear. I would rate it very good. See the photos for condition. The serial # is 393xxxx from 1973.
The bracelet is Rolex 91350 with 580 endpieces, also in very good condition and with very minimal stretch. There are 11 links. It has some light scratching from normal wear. The code on the clasp is -S T4 The folding extension link, clasp and flip lock all lock into place positively, with a satisfying "click".
The box is a rare "Seahorse" outer box. Inner box is mint with perfect cardboard insert. The outer box has two partially torn edges, one on the top half and one on the bottom half, and a couple of scuffs, but It is in good condition for it's age.
