Rolex steel vintage watch - c1950s

This is a stunning Rolex vintage watch, dating from around 1950 and rare (Model ref 4498/Serial ref 588062). The watch is in excellent, clean condition, with no significant wear. It features a solid steel case (34mm) with lovely curved 'sabre' lugs, original winding crown, mint clean original dial and a clean, freshly serviced hand wound Rolex 15 jewel movement. It comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap and a new, quality non-Rolex watch box. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value. The watch is even better in reality than photographed so I know someone is going to be very pleased to receive it.

The inside back of the case is signed 'Rolex', 'Geneve Suisse' and the '4498'model reference number. The outside back of the case is brushed in finish and carries the Rolex coronet emblem and the '588062' serial number. The case does not carry a personal inscription. Dial The original, professionally restored dial is in mint clean condition. The dial is just beautiful and is signed 'Rolex', 'Shock Resisting' and 'Swiss Made'. The original blued-steel hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is clear. Movement The hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in excellent, clean condition and is signed 'Rolex', '15 Rubis' and 'Swiss made'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues. Strap/Buckle I have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, which suits it perfectly but can be changed for another colour. The watch comes complete with a new non-Rolex watch case. A rare, highly collectible vintage watch from a top maker; will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
