A 1.2 million serial Rolex gilt dial date watch from 1964 / 1965 it has the most unique tropical gilt dial you will ever find!
A great case with strong lugs, classic engine turned bezel and rivet bracelet all complimented with a perfect movement having been serviced by Rolex UK last year and keeping great time.
But that is not what is so important with this watch. The stunning part of this watch is the dial.
An early 60's gilt dial where the black gloss has turned an amazing brown.
The lacquer layer above the gloss is perfect no marks or scratches whatsoever and the gilt printing on the lacquer again is 100% perfect. It is simply the original black gloss paint layer between dial plate and lacquer that has turned brown and the result is breathtaking!
The watch will change colour dramatically depending on the light from a deep chocolate brown to a very light caramel colour in direct sunlight. It really has to be seen to be appreciated.
