Description

Case: The 18K yellow gold MK 1 Submariner case is excellent, showing overall only light wear from use. There is a small scratch on the top of the 5 o'clock lug. The 18K yellow gold bezel is also in excellent condition, showing only light wear from use. Dial: The white dial is excellent, showing no visible wear. The yellow gold surround markers are filled with black onyx stone. The lume has aged to a warm, creamy hue, and the hands match perfectly. Bracelet: The 12-link 18K yellow gold Oyster bracelet is excellent, showing no perceivable stretch. The clasp is stamped with a 1993 date code. Accessories: None. Notes: The early MK 1 Yacht-Master case shares the same profile as the submariner cases from the same era.

📖 About This Reference

**Rolex Yacht-Master Reference 16628** The Rolex Yacht-Master reference 16628 represents the yellow gold offering within the Yacht-Master collection, housed in a 40mm case. This reference was produced from 1992 to 2012, spanning two decades of continuous manufacture. The 16628 distinguishes itself through its solid 18k yellow gold construction paired with a white dial configuration. The 40mm case is crafted entirely from 18k yellow gold and features a bidirectional rotating bezel. A sapphire crystal protects the white dial, while the automatic caliber 3135 movement provides timekeeping with a 48-hour power reserve. The watch offers 100-meter water resistance and is fitted with an Oyster bracelet. The movement operates automatically without additional complications. Reference 16628 appeals to collectors seeking a precious metal sports watch from Rolex's marine-oriented lineup. The extended production period from 1992 to 2012 makes examples readily available across different vintages. The combination of yellow gold construction and white dial provides contrast within the broader Yacht-Master range, positioning this reference as the traditional precious metal option in the 40mm size category.

There is a place in the world where you can see and even buy Rolex watches!
At my great surprise, all the watches shown here were for sale. And among them, the 2022 novelties! The new GMT Master " Destro ": And the old ones: Aaah, this Meteorite GMT MASTER!!! And also the new Air King. Better in real life than in pictures, but I still prefer mine, even if the good thing is

My third and last " Un-Rolex " Rolex: Yacht-Master 16622.
After the Milgauss 116400G, the Air King 116900, here my third Un-Rolex " Rolex, I mean in the moderns. As for the vintage, I will have to think a bit about that. The Yacht-Master is the epitome of the " Submariner Chic ". I love its density and its cold look. And these small touches of Red! Best, N

This watch does not get much discussion, but after initially seeing it in person in 2015 I knew I had to have one at some point. I was in my local AD and he had the new iteration with the addition of Glidelock and that was it… The Yacht-Master has always existed in an interesting place within Rolex’
