This is a very rare and elusive watch with a lovely, and near impossible to find, yellow star burst dial.  This reference was issued only as a celebratory piece for the launch of the 1997 Rally Diver reissue line.  It didn’t make it to any of the 1997-1998 Seiko catalogs. Only a very limited number were made and most, if not all, of them were built in May 1997.  

I am listing mine for sale if anyone is looking for one as I simply never wear it, and my collection has taken a different turn away from sports watches. Time for someone else to enjoy this rare beauty.

Overall the watch is in excellent condition. I can only see minimal marks on the watch and bracelet clasp. It comfortably fits my 7 5/8” wrist. The bezel rotates easily. I had a local watchmaker recently look it over and confirm it was running very well. They kept it on a watch winder for several days and it kept great time. As a side note, per my watchmaker, and included Seiko instruction manual, you actually don’t hand wind this automatic movement (7S36), you gently ‘swing it from side to side’ to get it started, then either wear it, or put on a watch winder.
