Description

FS -- Speake-Marin Shimoda in RG, Number 1 Reduced nearly $4k (USD)

Circumstances force the sale of this is a very special Peter Speake-Marin watch -- the 38mm Shimoda in Rose Gold, Number 1.

I’m going to use the original owner’s post as it truly captures what is special about this watch…..”In addition to being the first of the Shimoda series in this metal, other features include a hand-engraved plate under the trademark PSM winding rotor and a violet hand, specially re-finished by Peter for me in order to match the hands on his Foundation Watch. The re-finishing of the hand is specifically noted on the papers for the watch.”

“All boxes and papers included, of course. Watch is on the characteristically sturdy PSM black croc strap with substantial RG buckle. Beautiful fired enamel dial, and one relatively stealthy fun feature: a small diamond mounted on the "seconds hand" shaft so that it rotates once per minute.”

“The Shimoda in SS is pretty, but the rich color of this massive RG case will knock your socks off. Easy to read the time quite precisely with very little practice -- although that's not really the point with this "philosopher's watch."

“Mint-plus condition, with only a few hairlines consistent with infrequent and careful wear. Feels great on the wrist, and brings a smile when you see it peeking out from under your sleeve.“ And the 38mm is easier to wear than the 42mm. I know that sounds funny coming from a me, a well-known big watch guy.

Current retail price is $27,500. This special piece is yours for $18,750 reduced from $22,000. Happy to answer any questions. Sorry, no trade offers, please. (Pictures of the exact watch you will receive, courtesy of GG)

Sometimes I fiddle with this when bored
It looks and functions like those fidget spinners. I like the reassurance of the lug design, because it has to be screwed in, instead of the ubiquitous springbar. Wish they made more watches with screwed in bars - the FF from Blancpain comes to mind. Wish Peter Speake were still in his namesake comp
