Here’s a special opportunity to own a Number 1 from Peter Speake Marin, one of the pre-eminent independent watchmakers. A beautiful enamel dial with black Roman numerals and blued hands sits in a 38mm stainless steel case. The 18K rose gold crown and calendar corrector complement the hand-engraved rose gold bridge. A special iteration within the Picadilly line, the Serpent Calendar incorporates a date function with the distinctive and seductive serpent hand that is a Speake Marin trademark.

Speake Marin chose a hybrid ETA calibre 2824 as a base movement and modified it with his proprietary technical upgrades and aesthetic flourishes. The finish of the bridges is enhanced, the motion work and setting system replaced to Speake-Marin’s exacting standards, and the screws blued. The automatic mechanism is also removed and reconstructed in Speake Marin’s own style following that of The Foundation watch. Through the sapphire back you can see the beautiful hula of the signature hand finished rotor and automatic bridges.

Speake Marin made less than 200 of these watches and isn’t making them anymore. The condition of the watch is excellent with fine scratches from loving wear. Watch comes complete with box and papers. In addition to the strap on the watch, I will provide two extra Speake Marin straps, one new and in the original packaging, and the other slightly used, worn gently for a couple weeks.
