Rolex 1002

From ‘71. When I wear it, I appreciate a simple classic Rolex being so balanced; they had the formula right then in that era.

It’s a ‘72 1002 with me & Hachikō at Shibuya, the Shibuya scramble crossing, real-life Mario Kart, and at my hotel near the Tokyo Skytree.

It’s been the perfect piece to travel everywhere.

I usually prefer an oyster, but I sourced this NOS jubilee with 19mm 574B end links and just had to install it. This is going to be on my wrist all weekend!

I just got a Rolex 1002 in yellow gold, cir. 1965, telling from the serial number. I notice there’s a slight angle of the case at the crown position, please see
