A watch service question.
Hello guys
According to the information i know, ALS uses the untreated German silver for movement plates and bridges, German silver reacts very slowly when exposed to oxygen in the air and in the course of time, this alloy is coated with a beautiful golden-yellow patina that protects the material against further oxidation. However, this golden-yellow patina will be removed during watch services. So, the question is, I am worried about the movement plate and bridges will be thinner and thinner after many times of service, since to generate golden-yellow patina , surface German silver of movement have to be used and removed during service.
Anyone could share some useful information for this issue?
very appreciated.
have a good day , everyone ~
