A. Lange & Söhne

Concorso d'Eleganza - Day 3

The finale is no less exciting. We finally get to see some watches:

The much heralded 1815 Hommage to Walter Lange in three different metals. I very much looked forward to seeing them in the flesh, particularly as the piece unique in steel was auctioned for CHF 850,000 a few weeks earlier.

The yellow gold is limited to 27 pieces and therefore the most coveted...

The white gold is limited to 145 pieces...

The rose gold is limited to 90 pieces...

Don't be fooled - these handsome young man are indeed veteran watchmakers, each leading his own team...

Aha...the legendary Triple Split

And the 1815 chronograph in rose gold, black dial..very mouth-watering

We also took sneak peaks of two wonderful pieces still under embargo....sorry for a little suspense.

After lunch, we were given the chance to drive some vintage cars around the lake!   Imagine the excitement for me...

First, we have to pick a car....

You don't see me driving ....yet....

Dinner at Villa d'Este was a black tie event

A parade of winners in each category before dinner...

The Ferrari was voted Best in Show and awarded a special prize - a Lange & Sohne Timezone in steel with an engraved officer case and Lake Como instead of Berlin on the ring.

The fireworks after dinner marked a totally satisfactory and impeccable event.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
