Purchased 40mm Leman Flyback Chrono with steel strap in this past December (2007). Loved it from the minute it got on my wrist. Never a moment of buyer's remorse, and this sort of satisfaction on a watch that is probably way too expensive vis a vis my earnings and weakening US economy. The watch is not flamboyant or extravagant outside looking in, I don't think -- only a knowing few nods of approval but most people don't really know better.
Purchased the watch after much handwringing about the "mere 38hr" power reserve because my previous experiences with an automatic movements were aweful. I had an Omega DeVille that had to be wound-up every other morning (btw, a colleague has an Omega "CoAxial" automatic watch with the same complaint and another with Rolex Submariner Perpetual with 48hr reserve who basically only uses his cellphone for keeping time because his watch dies every morning).
I have to tell you, my BlancPain never stops!! Never have I given it a boost of manual wind nor I have my daily activity levels gone up. Same sedentary desk job, but my BlancPain refuses to die. It has spent whole weekends sitting on my dresser (it's still new, so not wearing it when I'm out in the yard doing chores on weekends) and it just does not stop! Keeps perfect time, too, but I have not paid too much attention on that regard because it's always just right on. The steel bracelet is certainly nicer then other such brands in my personal view, solid and sturdy feeling (and heavier then most as consequence).
Net/Net, it looks great, keeps perfect time, never a worry of automatic movement stopping and very comfortable to boot. I would suggest you get a steel bracelet - a little extra cost and perhaps it makes the watch look a bit sportier then classy, but it's a Chrono and should look rather sporting then otherwise.
Long drawn out piece this turned out to be and I'm not a chat room junky I must say, but I cannot contain my enthusiasm for the watch. Strong Buy.
