Re: Frederic Piguet is not the same as Audemars Piguet

Hi John,

I actually had a chuckle at myself from your "Anon" reference. Boy, that went right over my head!

Thanks for the "Piguet" explanation, as it is somewhat confusing for of us newbies. Your explanation has not discouraged me, but, I am now aware of the potential pitfalls. I'd plan on having it serviced by the manufacturer when called for. I shouldn't necessarily "expect" problems, but, they can occur. Is that about right? So basically, you wouldn't put it in the same light as, let's say, the PP 315 (which, like everything can have problems, too). Mind you, I am NOT a watchmaker (ha) and would just assume leaving that tedious task to you folks!

As for buying sight unseen, I am still tossing it around. The problem is that I don't have a dealer within 3 hours drive, even if they did have in stock. I am attracted to this watch both asthetically and due to Breguet's place. Only questions were with reliability. I also realize it may be hard to get due to production, in general. I actually LIKE that it is SS, and it is a perfect size for me. I also think it will be a great compliment to my 5065/1A, which, should be on my wrist within a month. I like being able to change-up strap/bracelet for a different look, which, both of these offer. Btw, I did purchase both 5065 and 5066 (for fiance) sight unseen, but no, I would never buy any suit without first trying it on!

I guess the bottom line is, more than anything else, is that I just want it to work properly.
