Mille Miglia Elton John Edition Movement Lateness
Dear friends,
Does anyone ever have experience the movement lateness in your Mille Miglia Elton John Edition watch?
I just bought this watch in 31st December 2004 in Jakarta (Indonesia) and I see that everyday the movement late about 10 seconds each day. I asked the shop where I bought it and they suggested me to directly take the watch to Chopard Singapore Headquarter and so I did in 5th January 2005. The Chopard person in Singapore said that it could take about 3 months to check my watch because Swiss is on holiday and since my watch still new, they suggested me to wear it first and if the problems remains, then I could take the watch back to them for checking.
After about 3 weeks, the watch is getting worse because it's late about 20 seconds each day, so I email Chopard Headquarter in Geneve (Swiss) asking about my problem. I already email them 4 times since end of January and never get any reply from them. I get tired because of their ignorence and I hope that in this forum I could get a suggestion from dear members. If I'm not mistake, COSC movement allows tolerance about -4 seconds upto +6 seconds each day and Chopard claims that all Mille Miglia watch using COSC Certified movemnt.
My friends told me to take the watch to any qualified watch service center and ask them to adjust the watch using Timegraph Machine. I'm afraid if somethings bad happen to my watch since it's still relatively new and under 2 years international warranty.
For your information Chopard only have showrooms in Jakarta (Indonesia) and their headquarter for East Asian Region is in Singapore including service center.
I really hope that in this forum I could get the answer to my problems since I feel that producer of my watch seems to be ignoring my problems. I don't know whether this is normal for all Chopard customer or because I bought an entry level Chopard watch and they look down on me? I hope that such a high reputation company should treat all their customers equal and responsive to maintain their good reputation.
