Opportunity to own a rare and desirable Journe high complication at a below-market price. This stunning and innovative FP Journe Quantieme Perpetuel, in platinum with “clover” dial. The “QP” has a classic but highly legible display composed of clean, well-arranged windows for all the calendar indications. Perfectly sized at 40mm. This watch lives up to Journe’s reputation as an innovative watchmaker. While most perpetual calendars are high maintenance and difficult to own, Journe has made it easy. No special tool or a trip to the service centre is needed if you let it wind down and need a calendar reset. The QP’s three-position crown allows the wearer to wind the watch as well as set the day, date and time. To set the month, simply pull out the corrector lever hidden behind the top right lug – an innovative solution so you won’t have to keep winding the crown if you’ve let the watch sit idle.
To add to the innovation, the watch is (I believe) the first fully digital perpetual calendar. All the calendar indications change instantaneously (Journe famously used a high speed camera to perfect this unique design) — it is very, very cool.
Alligator strap. Movement is primarily made in rose gold, giving this watch a substantial feel coupled to the platinum case.
Running at a frequency of 3Hz, with a free-sprung balance wheel, the movement stores over 120 hours of exploitable energy (even though it has a full power reserve of 160 hours).
Acquired from a well known dealer last year, this watch has rarely been worn (part of a larger >20 watch collection) and is in incredible shape.
