10K with PuristSPro - Some 6-7 years in excerpted fly-back - Part 1
Friends,
- Well, what's in such a number, probably not too much.
It just shows, how comfortable I have been here at this
virtual place in the Cyber Domain. & how much I continue
to enjoy spending some further time here regularly..
I almost can't believe that it already was back in 2010, when I started to
communicate here, have been warmly welcomed and kindly fostered in
my first steps into the Vintage terroir.
By reading in the Forum & other sources, looking & learning, there soon
was the appreciation of this flow of information & excitement, which was
informative, helpful & stimulating at the same time.
As JLC had been my fav brand, by owning a Reverso, and also, since
2002 2 more JLCs, Master pieces ( Master Moon TD Calendar &
Master Geographic), then my first slow & careful Vintage interests
also dealt with JLC.
My 1st JLC Vintage:

After a little while of lurking here, I had contributed with a little post,
dealing with my Reverso DuoFace and my " first Rolex" Date
( Cal 15000), my " life watch", back from 1976..
Comments were friendly & my learning to take reasonable pics also
commenced ( hopefully at least ! );
Although probably I will never master the Borat Pat Pending
Photography technique, by Nico, Blomman, & others, I am tremendously
thankful to many more here, also for little hints, second opinions &
their kind starting a spark for an area, also a passion,
not yet thought about.
- I would gratefully also mention our friend Bill here, who together
with Baron, has ignited my interest in Vintage Rolex; although it is still
a sort of abyss for me, it has caused growing interest & reward,
but also advances in collecting..
That area has meanwhile provided a whole new terrain, with many pleasures,
but also lots of homework to do, each time something is raising my interest..
Thus, when looking back, the months & years have been flying and
many encounters since then, have now turned into personal
friendships with a number of you here.
Furthermore, meeting other PuristS in person, seeing their treasures and
even handling & wearing them, soon became a great further pleasure
and deepened the horizon & intensity of this passion..
Collecting ?.. Well, maybe for me a big word for my humble acquisitions
of some Vintage models, meanwhile not only from JLC but also increasingly from Rolex and some few others.
- And Yes, it still delivers great joy to me,
not only seeing, touching these specimens, but also wearing those.
So, what I wanted to do here in these lines, to contribute 1-2 pics for
each of the years or time-episodes; pieces & pics, which are
"significant" to me, whatever that may mean for each of us.
In 2009/2010 I realized the addictive & alluring frenzy on the occasion
of the TT Polaris project; as I had coincidentally been digging
into the homework. I was enjoying some fabulous reviews & pictorials here,
and it soon became clear, I deeply needed to also go for one.
This, in the end was successful for the TTP 68, although the
distribution & popularity had been widely spreading across our community..
Along that line, the only thing I missed at that time a bit sadly, was getting also
the ss version of the Paris Boutique of the TTP 65..
Well, you cannot have it all at once !..

2 more events or shall I say developments further deepened my interest & addiction:
one was IGOTT2 in June 2011, with meeting of the tribes and getting to know quite a number
of you here.
- At that occasion I was privileged to also meeting our dear JLC Moderator,
( with his charming family) and his charismatic spell; fostered by Vlad, the Impaler,
several avenues of collecting and seeing things which had opened & caught my attention.
And the other element was the big pleasure to start my "friendship" trips to Paris,
one of my favorite cities & often horological retreat..
The rest is history: many pages & pictures later, many visits to Paris for GTGs,
meeting Nico and several others, who meanwhile had also become good friends.
( You, my friends, know who you are),
but I just would like to mention Blomman, Baron, and CC, just to name a few..
On this occasion I also want to just say thank you for lots of helpful advice &
great moments spent; many crazy table shots later I still enjoy seeing and exchanging
with many of you here, especially when it was even possible to put a name to an avatar !
Thank you for letting me participate in your passion, your experience and quite a number
of good laughs, as well..
Thus, enough of these a bit lenghty dwellings, just thought to do a
little "tour d' horizon" as well and try to communicate my feelings + a bit
of personal horological "infancy", having led into maturity..

2011 has been a great year for me & my watches: lots of travelling, lots of GTGs,
and also truly serious attacks on my wallet, LoLoL !!
2011 had also been the finding of a black Memovox, and this JLC alarm feature being
my first collection theme.

Then the discovery of my one & only Breguet, a Vintage Type XX, complete set, which
I have shown here a few times, - Thus, apologies, if redundant for you !

Further, the find of a nice Triple Calendar white dial, Cal 464/A, with teardrop lugs,
and lots of charm. ( After several years, I have been very lucky to amend this one and
now during this April with the black dialled one, thx to the kindness of a very good friend,
who decided to part from her & had offered it to me).
- You see - again friendship & encouragement..

Found also my first JLC E 159, several other Memovoxes, and also a whole bunch
of Vintage Rolex pieces, which fortunately were presenting to my path:

I vividly remember a stretch of five days which were accompanied
with 5 watches, in fact one per day !! - A pretty unheard sequence of opportunities:
- a Blancpain FF NoRad,
- a Jaeger Chronograph, a JLC Geomatic, and the pick-up of the Double coup
of both versions of the JLC DSA - thus EU & US..

Guess, we'll leave the great year of 2011 now.
Subsequently, 2012 had to be a year of condensation & concentration;
some pieces needed a service and some others a few replacement parts,
whereby my bank account liked that as well.
Some few new pieces were unevitable, however:
One of them, the TT Reverso in ss had too much attraction to
withstand the song of the sirene..

The year 2013 brought several other Vintages arriving in the stables
and I will only touch on just a few, in the upcoming Part 2.
