5088P on a shiny chocolate alligator strap
For all interested in PP strap colors: I have just received the shiny chocolate alligator strap for my 5088P that I ordered some months ago. As I feel that the originally provided shiny black strap is too serious (and dull) for the dial I opted for this dark and rich brown to present the watch in a serious manner (compared to that royal blue that it was on until today). Still waiting for a champagne colored strap which probably will be in-between chocolate and royal blue in terms of appearance.
It is a totally different watch now - on royal blue the strap grabs the attention first, now it is the dial that is recognized stronger. I am happy with both choices. For all those thinking about the chocolate color I can recommended it, it should work with many timepieces.
And the royal blue for comparison...

Both are good and IMO
the blue provides a better contrast to bring out the dial ! Would love to see the champagne strap with this rare handcraft piece

the blue is great but a little change to a more subtle color was perfect for me now
these are both OEM as well - whatever that means in the end as PP is sourcing them from a well known company...
what do you prefer then: brown or blue?
And the white stitching is the cherry on the cake with the blue
but brown is more under radar which is a nice variation. But in general too many classical watches lack fancy colors imo
Thanks for sharing this with the forum Nils -- Lovely in both (and, I'm sure soon, in all three) configurations! Fully agree that each of these choices confers much more character than the original, spotless black strap that comes with it! :-)
One day we have to create a thread with all the straps that several of us have matched to this gorgeous Rare Handcraft reference -- and we already have quite a few to show! A real "strap monster," like they say! Cheers.

I love your yellow as well but went after some consideration for champagne instead - so we will have a nice variety thread Amazing watch and it cannot be ordered anymore (since Dec 2022).
For sure you have to get some strap variations when you receive yours - keep my fingers crossed for you that it may come soon!
