A nice evening stroll

Friends invited us for dinner the other night, and we took a nice walk afterwards in an entirely new neighborhood (for us). Besides nice paths through grassy yards, we found a treasure along the way. A cache of dinosaurs and other interesting creatures! Our friends said the old couple who live in the house like to come out and have tea or coffee while watching youngsters play with the toys. They've been there more than a year, and only needed "restocking" a couple times. 







My "little girl" was very interested in playing, but I had wandered on ...

Where I found a Mercury Comet poking its nose out from behind a bush.



Further inspection revealed a full roll cage, seriously modified suspension, and 



obvious signs of a competition or two in its past days ...



My research indicates "the 1965 Comet Cyclone was powered by the 289-cu.in. V-8 with 225hp. There was a special high-performance package, better known as "Hi-Po" with the 271hp V-8 which, when installed in a Mustang, was known as the "K" code car (in a Comet, the engine code is "A"). A 1965 Cyclone also came with: four-speed Toploader transmission, nine-inch differential, performance suspension, quick-ratio steering and 8,000-rpm tachometer.
