A rare bird, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato 90195
Friends,
as you know, I have a growing addiction with vintage GPs. However, I do keep my interest in the modern world and I was recently very lucky to a very special Laureato to my collection.
A big, sporty watch. With 46mm this would be normally too big for me, but knowing the Laureato Evo3 and its short logs, I went for it and it actually works. It has to do as well with the octagonal rubber bezel and the complexity of the dial. All in all, the proportions are right.
This is however a watch I did not buy for its size but for its horological achievement. It is essentially the same as the Ferrari 9020 but in a modern, bigger case. The Rattrapante Foudroyante feature is something mesmerising and special.

That was a pleasure to see it in the flesh. I never saw one before.
I was in shock when reading that the case was 46 mm big. In the real, it wears like a 43 / 44 mm watch. And I am a big fan of the rattrapante / foudroyante association, too. Thanks for the discovery. Best, Nicolas
Yes, the size is surprising

Laureato Rattrapante
Dear Crown Confort, greetings from Caracas. Beautiful piece, Kudos, by the way, is the rattrapante function activated by a coaxial button on the crown like the 9020? Thanks for your response. Rafael

As mentioned by Nico, yes the crown has an inner button which operates the Rattrapante function. On one photo you can see the crown which is rubber for winding and Titanium for the pusher. CC
Yes, It's a big watch, but in a good way.
It's making a good wrist presence without overpowering your wrist. Just like how the looks on my wrist. Very satisfying. Cheers, Luis
